This is what I believe to be the true effect of BVL. Our BVL Dhamdhama team members were approached by the Dhamdhama Anchalik Puja Committee to assist them as volunteers in planning their Durga Puja this year. The center-in-charge of the Dhamdhama team, Samsul Haque, gathered his entire staff, the majority of whom are from the Muslim community, to assist the puja committee. Samsul informed me that since he was a young child, he has never engaged in this kind of partnership. I'm glad to see that Assam's BVL centers are bringing together members of various groups. Priya Kannan (and her family), a former volleyball player from Maharashtra who now resides in Australia, adopted the three Dhamdhama teams.
